Massachusetts consistently ranks as a national leader in education. Data from the Nation's Report Card support this reputation, often citing the state's rigorous curriculum and high student achievement. This success, however, prompts a crucial question: Is this standard of excellence uniformly experienced across all school districts within the Commonwealth? Our maps aim to unravel the nuances and potential disparities that may exist at a local level by examining various educational metrics spatially, including student dropout rates, school spending per student, average class size, median household income, and student performance on ELA and Math MCAS. This analysis will move beyond the general perception of success and investigate the reality within individual districts, beginning with an examination of student dropout rates across the states.
